The DM that started it all.
A few days ago, I was granted the opportunity to do a snapchat takeover for @MakeupForWOC. This was my first ever snapchat takeover! I was very nervous and excited, all at once. I didn’t know what look I was going to do. I wanted to do something smokey, but not too much. Something time efficient and radiant.
I went with an olive green smokey eye with nice grungy red lip color. Although I couldn’t find the name of the actual palette that I used for the green shimmer, here’s a list of the rest of products I used to achieve this look:
Urban Decay Quick Fix Primer | Thebomb.com! If you’re looking for a HYDRATING primer that smoothes the skin, reduces the look of pores, and brightens the skin. This is it! You can get this at Sephora or Ulta Beauty, and it costs around $32!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow | This is a very well known product in the beauty community. I used this for my brows in dark brown. You only need a little of this for your brows and it lasts sooo long. You can get this at Sephora and Ulta Beauty as well for $18.
LA Girl Pro Conceal | I used the color fawn. This is also a very well known product in the beauty community. I used this to carve out my brows and set my eyelids for eyeshadow! The price of this product varies, but its mostly around $4-$5 and you can get it roughly anywhere! (Walgreens, Ulta Beauty, Target, etc.)
Ben Nye Luxury Powder | Now I know I used this product way too much, but its just THAT good. If you are a women of color, you need to use a setting powder with a tint. Ben Nye has a variety of shades! I bought mine from Amazon but Im sure you can find it at other retailers.
Bobbi Brown Long-wear EvenFinish SPF 15 Foundation | PERFECT for the summer — this foundation has sunscreen! I used this in my shade golden almond (not shown here) and it smears and blends into the skin so perfectly. You can get this at Sephora or Ulta Beauty for around $38.
Urban Decay Cosmetics Naked Heat Palette | I love this palette and its perfect for the summer and spring time. I used the shade “Cayenne” out of here for my transition shade. You can find this at Ulta Beauty for $54!
Black Radiance True Complexion Contour and Highlight Palette | My all time favorite contouring kit! Its perfect for my skin tone and blends well with your foundation. I got this from CVS for about $7 (yes, that is NOT a typo). I use the medium to dark palette and it is absolutely wonderful for its price!
Laura Mercier Face Illuminator | I love love love this stuff. The shimmer is amazing and you don’t need to put on much to shine. Costing around $44, you can find this highlighter at Sephora. I use this in the shade addiction. If you see any of my makeup posts on Instagram, I’m using this highlighter!
Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush | I love this color, especially on WOC. I got this from CVS for $5!! YES, FIVE DOLLARS. And the quality is amazing! Don’t sleep on makeup from the drugstore honey, it will get you right! It gives your cheeks some warmth thats not too bold.
I hope this post inspires you all to check some of these lovely products out! To get a closer look at these photos, head over to my Instagram! I had such a fun time doing this on camera for the world to see. I ended up leaving with 7k views!! Thats amazing and such a huge accomplishment to me and I hope to take over more snapchats in the future!
